How to Post Your Syllabi (or any file) to the Wiki
Step 1. Check which web browser you are using. Some do not allow you to edit the wiki in the "Point and Click" mode, which is the best way to edit the wiki. Point and Click is like using a word processing program, like Word.
Good browsers: Firefox
Bad browsers: Safari
Step 2. Have the file you want to post to the wiki on your computer or on a flashdrive or CD. Your file should be in Word format. Note: The filename should be as simple and straightforward as possible. For example: LS1.doc for Listening/Speaking Level 1, LS2.doc for Listening/Speaking Level 2, etc. It should have the extension .doc at the end.
Step 3. Go to the Syllabus page for the current session
Step 4. At the bottom of the page, click "Edit Page". You have to enter the password for the wiki before you can continue.
Step 5. When the page opens in editing mode, you will see all the tools across the top as if you were using Microsoft Word. In the syllabus table, find your course and enter your name if it is not there. Just click in the table and type.
Step 6. Go to the column for the syllabus and click in it. Now you are going to create a link to your syllabus file and upload it. Go up to the tool bar and click on "Attach file". A window will pop up over the top of the wiki page. Click on "Browse" and find your syllabus file, highlight it and choose it. The path to your file will show up in the window in the pop up. Click "Upload". Your file should now be uploaded to the server that hosts this wiki. A link to it should appear in the syllabus column. When someone clicks on the link, your file will download to their computer. Note: Sometimes the uploading and linking steps take a lot of time. If nothing is happening for 3-4 minutes, you might need to try to upload at a later time.
Step 7. Click on "Save" in the lower left corner of the wiki. You will then see the version of the wiki page that a regular user (not someone editing) will see. Do a test to see if you can click on your syllabus and download it.
